2004/2005: WATER

For the second year we have organized a partnership between 5 schools, Istituto d’Istruzione Superiore “A.F.Formiggini” (Sassuolo, Italy), Lycée Polyvalent (Villefranche de Rouergue, France), “Erich Fried” Gesamtschule (Wuppertal, Germany), Kauniaisten Lukio (Kauniainen, Finland) and Gemini College (Ridderkerk, Holland).
Also the themes for this year’s programme were fixed: this years we decided on “Water and Water Management” . The Italians, the Germans and a part of the Dutch students dealt with typical environmental and ecological problems of water. The Dutch group made a comparison between the specific water problems in Amsterdam and Venice.
The overall conclusion is that the cooperation between the partners has been very satisfactory. The role of the students has to be mentioned. They created a very positive atmosphere. Their contribution in the creation as well as the realization of the project was very important. For them it was an important experience to see that the same age group in the participating countries deal differently with things like private life, communication and culture as a whole. More and more these experiences are an eye opener for them and help them to deal with prejudices. They are all more and more aware of the fact that being a “European” is something that has to be developed and that it takes time to reach that aim.
